The parent company Paini, began in 1954 as a small artisan company with roots in Pogno , Italy- the heart of the Italian design tradition.
The founder and president, Mario Paini and his brother began apprenticing at a small workshop producing faucet components.  A spirited entrepreneur, Paini embarked on a journey to realize his vision of becoming a global leader in the decorative plumbing industry by combining the very best of Italian design and craftsmanship. Today, Paini's vision lives on under the leadership of is son Marco. 
They have continued to uphold their founding principles for over 60 years, remaining crafted in Italy while serving as the inspiration for the full range of FORTIS products.
